Nikol Pashinyan and António Guterres discussed consolidation of peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan and other issues of mutual interest

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.

The interlocutors emphasized the importance of holding the 17th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17) in Armenia in October. The Prime Minister noted that the Government of the Republic of Armenia is consistently working to ensure the conference is organized to the highest possible standards and stressed the importance of high-level participation by international partners.

António Guterres expressed confidence that, through joint efforts, the conference would be held at the highest level.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and the UN Secretary-General exchanged views on issues related to consolidating the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan, promoting regional cooperation, and other matters of mutual interest.
